RE: Any problems with XP service pack 3?

The only issue that I have seen to date, after updateing many PC's, is the loss of Wireless cabability on a few laptops. There is a simple fix which involve deleteing 1 Windows file and reinstalling the Wireless drivers.

RE: Dually vs. Single Rear Wheel

For something that probably has a GVWR in the range of 16000-18000, I would recommend a Dually

RE: Pin Wt

Nothing that you add will increase the GVWR, in fact the added weight will just put you further over the GVWR. Airbags and helper springs will however help keep the back end up so your headlights aren't pointed upwards.

RE: Is my truck big enough to tow with

Can you pull the 5th wheel - Yes. You will quite likely exceed GM's recommended GCWR limit and even possibly GM's GVWR limit in doing so. It is entirely your call.

RE: Towing with 2500 HD Chevy 6L 4:10 rear end

In your case the real limiting factor is the Motor and Drive Train. I am quite sure that the GCWR rating (recommended total weight of loaded truck and trailer) is 16,000#. Any higher total weight will probably result in lower performance and possibly additional wear and tear. Airbags won't improve the situation.

RE: Towing with 2500 HD Chevy 6L 4:10 rear end

Although you don't mention the year or body style of the truck I am quite sure that you will exceed the trucks GCWR rating (16,000) and that you won't enjoy the tow

RE: Actual Wheel Weight on 5er

When a 5er is parked and disconnected from tow vehicle then wheels and tires carry full weight of camper. For example 10,000 lb. camper with two axles would equal 2500 pounds per tire, correct? So there is no weight on the front landing gear when the trailer is disconnected from the tow vehicle ???

RE: Is this to much weight

The numbers shown in the Trailer Life list are based on GCWR and ignore GVWR. Also those lists do not contain the typical disclaimer that is shown in the manufacturers listings Example Trailer ratings are calculated assuming a standard equipped vehicle plus driver. Optional equipment, passengers or cargo will reduce trailering capacity. Trailer kingpin weight should be 15 to 25% of total loaded trailer weight up to 3,000 lbs. Trailering capacity may be limited by ability to carry trailer tongue weight; do not allow tongue weight to cause vehicle weights to exceed Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR) or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Base cooling system includes all content required to attain maximum trailer rating. L18 engine and 3.73 axle ratio available only with automatic transmission.

RE: Can I tow this?

Weigh the truck fully loaded as it would be when you hitched up a 5th wheel (Toolboxs, Passengers, Firewood, Generator, etc) The recommend max 5th Wheel GVWR based on the GM recommended limits would be the lessor of the following 2 calculated values. (1) Trucks GCWR rating(from manual) - Truck Loaded Weight (2) 5 X (Trucks GVWR rating(from Door post) - Truck Loaded Weight)

RE: Is this to much weight

You will exceed the trucks GVWR rating and might even exceed the trucks GCWR rating when loaded. Some people do it - I don't recommend it.

RE: Where is it coming from?

I had the same issue with 1 slide this year. After carefull inspection under the slide when it was out I noticed a couple of small tears in the fabric under the slide which were allowing the tires to throw water up into the lower section of the slide. Since I repared those sections I have been dry.
